Sykes, she was talking about her ex!
Ariana Grande sparked chaos this morning after apparently
confirming that she had split from The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes.
The 20-year-old ‘The Way’ singer casually dropped the admission into a radio interview with Florida’s 93.3 FLZ.
When asked about her boyfriend, Ariana said: "You're a little behind."
Before adding: "We're really good friends."
Wait... What?!
But things were cleared up by some eager fans, who pointed out that she was actually referring to her ex-boyfriend, Jai Brooks.
The synopsis on the radio station’s website that stated Ariana’s revelation has since been deleted.
The confusion came about when the presenter asked Ariana about her renting a sloth for her boyfriend's birthday. Ariana tried to stop the interview (which was live... awkward), before saying they had split.
Ariana actually bought her ex-boyfriend, Jai, the sloth for xmas - NOT Nathan.

He wrote: "Ooooo I know what to say! Don't believe anything until you hear it from me or one of the boys. Everyyyoneee calmmmmm doooowwwwnnnnn ☺️lol"
Ariana and Nathan were first romantically linked back in August after recording duet ‘Almost Is Never Enough’ for the Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones soundtrack.
And a mere one month later, the two confirmed they were an item.
However, it wasn’t all plain sailing for the couple after Ariana’s ex boyfriend Jai took to Twitter to accuse her of cheating on him with Nathan.
On hearing the claims, Ariana tweeted: “I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. You said to me if I didn't come back to you, you'd make me look bad to the entire world...I'm no longer afraid of you or your lies anymore.”
With the scandal dealt with, the two seemed happy to go about their new romance – gushing about one another at any given opportunity.
Ariana recently told Top of the Pops magazine: “I am so crazy about him every single day.
“He’s so incredibly successful but he’s so kind and respectful. He’s so gentlemanly.”
