Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Tom Parker and Jay McGuiness from The Wanted

The Wanted’s Jay McGuniess has admitted he is not a fan of the band’s new line-up after they were forced to perform as a four piece for the first time ever.

The Chasing The Sun singers are a man down after Nathan Sykes was forced to have emergency surgery on his vocal cords last week.

Jay and his remaining bandmates Siva Kaneswaran, Max George and Tom Parker took to the stage at the E! 2013 Upfront event in New York last night, just hours after 20-year-old Sykes was wheeled out of hospital.

And as the quartet mingled with the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kelly Osbourne at the star-studded bash, Jay took some time out to spare a thought for his sickly friend.

‘Not the same without you @NathanTheWanted!’ he tweeted alongside a snap of the foursome posing for photographers on the red carpet.

Nathan Sykes of The Wanted

Sykes’ operation means he has been ruled out of recording sessions for The Wanted’s latest album and may have to bow out of their world tour, which is scheduled to kick off later this year.

And as Nathan misses out on all of the fun it looks as though he can’t wait to get home.

He tweeted on Sunday: ‘LA, I love you … but nearly 2 and a half months without being home is killing me.’
