singer Siva Kaneswaran from boy band The Wanted has announced he is to marry
his girlfriend of six years.
The
music star turned the tables on Nareesha McCaffrey when she tried to throw him
a surprise birthday bash - but he made it into an engagement party.
Kaneswaran
told Hello! magazine: "It was like a military operation to plan the
proposal. I couldn't even tell the other boys in the band in case they blew the
surprise.
The
singer said he discovered the shoe designer was aiming to throw a party for him
- but he then enlisted help to spring his own surprise. The occasion saw him on
bended knee with a three-carat diamond solitaire ring which he had specially
designed, as he asked her to be his wife.
