Following his recent throat surgery, The Wanted's Nathan Sykes is under strict instructions not to use his voice.

But despite the singer's illness, the other boys have decided to soldier on, appearing as a foursome on Extra at The Grove in LA on Thursday as they kick off their promo interviews without him.

Deciding to carry on promoting their new single while the 20-year-old recovers, the British band put a brave face on things as Max George admitted to E!: 'Chances are, he's going to be OK. The signs so far have been really good.'

Jay MCGuinness added: 'He's definitely in better spirits than when he first came around.'
Making a joke of things, Tom Parker said: 'For the first time in three years in our careers, we're actually on time to every interview, which is slightly strange.'

Proving just how popular the band is becoming across the pond, they attracted a huge crowd at the LA venue as they took to the stage.
Chatting to host Renee Bargh, the band discussed about their eagerly-anticipated new single, Walks Like Rihanna, on the day that the video debuted.

The boys looked relaxed and casual for their US TV interview slot, despite being one member down, dressed in jeans and T-shirts.
Missing out on all the fun, Nathan admitted that he had a dreaded doctor's appointment while the others were enjoying the limelight.
'Dreading tomorrow,' he wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday, before relying to a fan: 'Seeing the doctor or something? :/ x” yeah. First time I see my vocal chords since the op.'
He admitted that the appointment was making him nervous, saying: 'Thanks for the love with #GoodLuckNath :) nervous though x.'

Nathan will need to wait to find out how his voice will heal, however, as despite the successful surgery and the early good signs, it may be several months before he knows if he is completely in the clear.

Max George recently told E! News: 'There is always the worry there but he’s only young so the chances are he’s going to be okay.'
'But there’s always the underlying worry there because it was a huge operation he had. But the signs have been really good so fingers crossed.'
But despite the band's set back, their new video has been causing a stir as they, as the boys reenact famous boyband videos from the past.
