Fazer – now Richard Rawson hangs – with Tom Parker of the Wanted

N-Dubz star Fazer has decided to re-brand and, er, faze out his rap star image after becoming a dad.

The 27-year-old no longer wants to be in the same basket as one-name stars such as Madonna, Cher and Prince and is bringing back the surname to duet with the Wanted’s Tom Parker in the wake of the boyband’s split.

‘I feel I’ve grown up over the past couple of years. I had a lot of fun as Fazer but it’s time for a change,’ the 27-year-old told Metro.

‘Becoming a father to a beautiful baby girl has been the greatest experience of my life. Now it’s time for a fresh chapter in my career. I am releasing new music this year as Richard Rawson.’

Revealing his unlikely collaboration with Parker – who now seems to have time on his hands to go out and get drunk after his own band’s break up – Rawson says: ‘The first single from my album is a collaboration with Tom Parker which I can’t wait for people to hear. We are shooting the video in the next couple of weeks and it’s looking slick!’

As for 25-year-old Parker, who was struggling to make it to his limo after a night out at Mahiki in London on Saturday, he said: ‘I’ve worked with Richard on a few writing sessions in the past, so when he asked me to collaborate on a track there wasn’t any doubt that I wanted to do it. I’m really proud of it and it’s just one of a few projects I’m working on at the moment.’
