The star is having an operation tomorrow in a bid to save his
voice.
He has a
haemorrhaging nodule on his vocal cord, a huge fear for singers.
It could spell
disaster for the band because Nathan is in charge of some lead vocals.
They were meant to
be in the studio working on their next album and planning a world tour at the
end of the year — but that all now hangs in the balance.
Even if the
procedure is successful, he won’t be able to talk for at least a month, let
alone sing.
A source said:
“It’s not good at all. Nathan has battled with throat issues for a while but
this is far more serious.
“After the
once-over by the specialist, he was instructed to have almost immediate surgery.
Naturally Nathan is really worried as if it doesn’t work, his career is over.
“The rest of the
band are not only concerned about him but also about the group.
“It will be tricky
to continue without him as vocals will have to be changed. All their worldwide
commitments are having to be put on hold.”
With festival
season about to kick off, the five-piece are booked for UK dates over the
summer.
Nathan has flown
from the Bahamas to LA ready for surgery.
And if it couldn’t
get any worse, it’s also his 20th birthday tomorrow.
Happy birthday,
pal.
