The
Wanted’s Nathan Sykes has been forced to leave the band to have surgery to try
and save his voice.
A
spokesperson for them us: "We can confirm that The Wanted's Nathan Sykes
will under go specialist throat surgery on Thursday 18 April in Los Angeles and
as such will be taking unforeseen hiatus from The Wanted.
"The
priority for Nathan, his label and management is that he is given time to
recover and receive the best treatment possible.
"The
remaining four members of The Wanted will continue fulfilling the bands
promotional commitments across the world."
The
boys were supposed to be in the studio working on a new album, have festival
season approaching and are planning a world tour at the end of the year – but
even if all goes to plan with his surgery, he won’t be able to talk for at
least a month – let alone warble.
He was
seen by a throat specialist and instructed to have immediate surgery, but it's
thought Nathan is really worried as if it doesn’t work, his career is doomed.
The
rest of the band are said to be worried about him – and the future of the rest
of the group.
Nathan
wrote on Twitter: "Can’t sleep. So much on my mind. Gutted."
Plus
the fact he's just broken up with Dionne Bromfield - and it's his birthday
tomorrow.
