‘GMA’ invites fans to vote for The Wanted #TWvideo

On Friday, one of the hottest bands in the world will perform in Central Park for Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series. On Aug. 20, “GMA" invited fans to pick the play list for The Wanted.

In 2012, Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaren, Max George and Tom Parker shot to international fame after releasing their first single “Glad You Came” from their second studio album “Battleground.” It sold more than three million copies in the United States alone. The Wanted’s follow-up singles “Chasing the Sun” and “I Found You” both hit No. 1 on Billboard’s hot dance club songs chart. Simon Vozick, senior editor of “Rolling Stone” told “GMA” viewers on Tuesday, “They have everything they need to be a successful boy band.”

The Wanted is currently profiled on an E! reality series titled “The Wanted Life.” Ryan Seacrest serves as producer. The show premiered on June 3, 2013 and was nominated for a Teen Choice Award.

“Word of Mouth,” The Wanted’s highly anticipated new album, releases next month, so the group’s appearance on “GMA” is a smart and timely move. “Own the Night” is already topping the charts, leaving young fans wanting more of The Wanted. According to MTV, “Word of Mouth” drops nationwide on Sept. 17.

Fans can vote for their favorite songs by The Wanted by heading to the “GMA” website on Yahoo. The band has agreed to play the winning songs this Friday, as determined by their fans.
