Considering it took The Wanted approximately 4 billion years to releaseWord of Mouth, we’ll hazard a guess that they were pretty eager (and a bit scared) to see what critics and fans had to say. The album debuted at number nine in the charts, since listen counts sadly don’t count as sales (if they did, we’d get them to number one all by ourselves) so it’s TOM PARKER TO THE RESCUE PLEASE after he explained just why the lads are pretty chuffed with how the album has done.

Talking to BBC Newsbeat, Tom said: “I think for any band, I think it’s very difficult to always sustain a certain level.
"I think when we came in with a number one single [All Time Low, in case your memory is a bit foggy], you set a precedent then to stay at number one.”

"And when you don’t stay at number one, the critics are like ‘Well, that’s the fall of The Wanted.’ Mmmm, it’s not really. It’s just very difficult to stay there. Do you know what I mean, and it is,” he added.
Well Parkerooney, we’re just ruddy proud of you for finally getting round to releasing the album and for just being you really – Nariana, Jay’s great new haircut… we could go on.
Tom also told Newsbeat he thought their UK popularity may have ‘taken a hit’ because of being bloody worldwise superstars. “You’ll have your up moments and you’ll have your down moments in music," he said.

“I feel like, because we’ve been out of the country quite a lot as well, we’ve been travelling the world, so we’re happy that it’s not just in the UK any more. It’s worldwide and we’ll probably do a good couple of hundred thousand in the first week in different territories around the world.”
He added: "So, I think it’s been worth us going around the world, even though the UK market might have taken a bit of a hit. I feel like it’s been worth it for the growth of the band worldwide.”
Ermm, as long as America and the rest of the world don't steal you lot forever, we suppose we're cool with that.
But what do you reckon to Tom’s comments? Still popular with you? Were you a fan of Word of Mouth? Let us know in the special box below please.
