The Wanted have been announced
as the latest act for the upcoming BBC Children in Need Rocks 2013, curated by
X Factor judge Gary Barlow.
Barlow recently announced that
he will be leaving the hot seat at the end of the current X Factor series .
The boys will perform on
Tuesday November 12 alongside Robbie Williams, Dizzee Rascal and X Factor
winners Little Mix.
American singer Barry Manilow
will also join the star cast.
He said: "I have known
Gary from early Take That days when they re-recorded my hit Could It Be Magic
in 1992.
"We have remained friends
and I am thrilled he asked me to be a part of this great BBC Children in Need
Rocks night."
Mr Manilow added: "I have
been proud to support BBC Children in Need for many years as it's a truly
wonderful cause that does great work for children and young people in the
UK."
Other artists already confirmed
include US folk band The Lumineers, British singer Tom Odell, Ellie Goulding
and Rizzle Kicks.
They will perform the day
after, alongside Bastille and Passenger.
BBC Radio 2 presenter Chris
Evans and Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton will host the concerts on both nights, which
will be combined into one television programme.
Fearne said: "BBC Children
in Need Rocks is always fantastic and once again Gary has pulled off a mega
line up."
"I can't wait to present
this year, we've got two nights of music which means double the fun, and I have
no doubt that we're going to raise a huge amount of money for a very special
charity doing amazing work."
