Max George has been left devastated after his grandfather died before he was able to get back from America see him.
The Wanted popstar, 25, had desperately tried to rush home from the
band’s tour after learning that sick David George, 77, had taken a turn for the
worse.
But snow in the US grounded many planes, meaning that he could not even
get a private jet and his grandfather died on Monday, before Max made it back.
Around two weeks earlier David, of Worsley, Greater Manchester, had
suffered a fall and a pal of Max said he never fully recovered.
The friend said: “Max is incredibly close to his family. The death has
really hit him hard. He was distraught at not getting home before his
grandfather died.”
In November Max tweeted a picture of him and David with the caption “my
hero”.
